Love Home and similar facilities have emerged over the past three decades to address the shortage of psychiatrists and treatment options. With a psychiatrist-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4000, many middle-class families struggle to afford long-term care, leaving many mentally ill individuals, especially women, homeless.
